In this talk, we will discuss a novel impulsive control law to stabilize a new class of chaotic systems. Using a non-quadratic Lyapunov function candidate and the impulsive differential theory, we derive some algebraic sufficient conditions which ensure the asymptotical stability of the chaotic system under the impulsive control strategy. We will also discuss the minimum time problem of chaos synchronization based on control parameterization techniques. A new computational algorithm is devised to calculate the minimum time of chaotic synchronization easily and the optimal controls can be constructed to ensure that the drive system can synchronize the response system in the minimum time. For illustration, numerical examples are presented to show the effectiveness and usefulness of results obtained.
