Abstract:

We show that any topological dynamical system (X, T) has a zero-dimensional extension (Y, S) which is principal (i.e. every S-invariant measure has conditional entropy with respect to X equal to zero) and faithful (i.e. every T-invariant measure on X has exactly one preimage on Y). Furthermore, the system Y has no periodic points, which is also useful in certain applications
