| Abstract： | Volume estimates of metric balls in manifolds nd diverse applications in in-formation and coding theory. In this talk, we present some recent results on nite as well as asymptotic volumes of metric balls in Stiefel and Grassmann manifolds. The focus will be on the connection to various tools from random matrix theory. Joint work with Pitaval, Tirkkonen and Corander. |
