Abstract:

The rotating disk-beam is widely used in the mechanical engineering and robotics. Due to the fact that the disk is rotating with a high speed, the stabilization of the attached Euler-Bernoulli beam is a challenging problem in distributed parameter systems. The scope of this talk is to present some boundary control laws for stabilizing the rotating beam and show that there is a maximum rotating speed to the disk so that when the disk rotating speed is greater than the maximum number, the beam will be unstable, in other word, the control laws can not stabilize the beam any more. When the rotating disk-beam is suffered the boundary input disturbance, the active disturbance rejection control (ADRC) approach is introduced to reject the boundary disturbances.
The results are illustrated with the help of some examples.
